What is there to do around the waters of Anna Maria?
The list is long... fish, sight see, eat, play on sand bars, swim, explore, look at the wild life, visit a fishing village, Jewfish Key, Egmont Key. RELAX and enjoy the sun. The list goes on and on. Lets go through a typical day on the water with Seaduced.
Tommy and Mike ready to go
Head over to Cortez Road and about a mile east of the Cortez Bridge will be 115th St, Turn north. This will dead end, just look for the orange builds to your left and that is Seaduced
For this example, lets show up around 9AM and check in with the crew. Parrot cove is easy to find and is on beautiful Palma Sola Bay.
After a little paperwork, one of the crew will ask you about what you want to do today, what's your adventure. Based on your answers, you will get a full briefing on where we would suggest that you go and how to get there. We will go over the rules of the road and where you have to be careful.
Lets say the answers were...
"We want to swim, play on a sand bar where the kids can see some wildlife. Maybe have lunch, we have a picnic basket but Aunt Terri's egg salad sandwiches are just so so. Like to see lots of wild life and maybe some nice houses."
Okay... lets get you guys to Jewfish Key first.
This island sits between the south end of Anna Maria and the north tip of Longboat Key. We love this place!. The waters are clear and offer some great adventures. there are 3 sand bads that stream off the island that you can explore. We like to anchor at the #1 on the picture and take the walk that is the red line.

Now this is living!

Now lets head over to "Beer Can" AKA, the north tip of Longboat Key
We will anchor under the bridge to get some shade.
The beach at the north tip of Longboat Key is a wonderful stop. There is no parking or beach access so the only way to enjoy this area is to have a hotel room on the beach or get there by boat. We discuss how to anchor up here by gliding on the beach under the bridge.
In the Summer, you get the added benefit of being in the shade of the bridge. if you are going to picnic, this offerers you some releaf from the heat. Be sure to set a forward and aft (front and back) anchor. In the Summer months, keep an eye out for Manatees on in this area.
If you want the beach, you may want to have beach shoes, there are some sand spurs in the grassy area off
the wet sand.
I'm hungry!
Bring a picnic and enjoy the shade of the bridge as you enjoy your lunch. Or, better yet, let someone else serve you.
Waterside dining
MarVista - Capt Larry's favrate offering old florida feel, great food and options to eat inside or out. Marvista is "dog friendly", so if you have a 4 legged friend, bring him with you. MarVista is close to Jewfish Key on the north end of
Longboat Key. They can also sell package beer and
wine if you run out.
Next door is Moore's Crad Shack where you can enjoy some local seafood.
Bridge Tender Inn is on AMI at the Bridge Street Pier about 1/2 way between Seaduced and Jewfish Key. Easy to dock and has good food and both indoor/outside seating.
Starfish - A unique fresh fish place that is hidden in the Cortez fishing village. Ask your Seaduced Crew on how to find this outdoor eating jem.
Heading to Sarasota? Try Marina Jack for a great marina lunch. Marina Jack is the star marina in Sarasota and offers a great lunch. They also have fuel of you want to top off.
As long as we are talking about Sarasota...
The Salty Dog is a bit harder to find and dock but worth the trouble. Admerial Terri loves the Grouper and Captain Larry always orders the "Dog bites".
